Southsea Tennis Club is the only tennis club on Portsea island and is located at Southsea Tennis Club, Clarence Esplanade, Southsea, Hampshire PO5 3PB, within Southsea Common and moments away from the seafront. The club has a total of 8 macadam hard courts, 5 of them being floodlit for evening play. You can either sign up to a membership or pay for the facilities by the hour as the courts are open to for public hire. However, members of the club do profit from free access to the courts at STC, free members' social mix-in sessions, coaching with a small additional charge, and discounted access to Canoe Lake grass courts amongst other perks. For a bite to eat there is Pavilion Café which is open to members of the club as well as the public. Families can also take advantage of the children's playground, the sandy volleyball courts, the pitch and putt and the skate park at Southsea Common. The large open space at Southsea common is perfect for sporting activities, picnics or dog walking. There is lots of parking around Southsea Common, but parking charges do apply. You can either pay with cash or by card by either downloading the RingGo app or giving RingGo a call. With regards to public transport, there is a bus stop on Clarence Esplanade where you can get the 16 bus to Eastney or Portsmouth from the D-day Museum bus stop which is a 2 minute walk away from Southsea Tennis Club, and the X4 Solent Ranger to Southsea comes from Southampton and stops at the D-da Museum bus stop.
