This time last year, as we prepared for the greatest tennis event the world has to offer, Wimbledon’s The Championships, we offered our prediction for winner of the Gentlemen’s singles. Carlos Alcaraz was our choice. And the Spaniard did not disappoint, taking home the Wimbledon trophy as the second Grand Slam title of his career. In doing so, Alcaraz ended Novak Djokovic‘s attempt at 5 consecutive Wimbledon titles, a first in the open era.
This year we’re doing things a little different. Yes, we did correctly predict Carlos Alcaraz’s Wimbledon success, but only as a by-product of our prediction of the Spaniard becoming a world-class tennis star. This year we’re giving specific predictions, for both main events. We have Jannik Sinner for the Gentlemen’s Singles and Iga Świątek for Ladies Singles.
Aceify’s 2024 Wimbledon Prediction
We’re backing Jannik Sinner for the Gentlemen’s Singles and Iga Świątek for the Ladies Singles in our Wimbledon prediction. These may be considered safe bets, as they’re both currently world n0.1, but we believe them to be the strongest contenders. Both Sinner and Świątek have been under a run of incredible form, earning them our backing and their world no.1 position. It has been an incredibly exciting year for tennis, more so for our predicted champions.
Jannik Sinner
Jannik Sinner’s 2024 season has been a turning point in his career. He is now comfortably considered one of tennis’ elite stars, thanks to his first Grand Slam victory at the Australian Open, which saw Sinner defeat Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev in consecutive matches. The Australian Open win saw Sinner rise to world No.1 in the ATP rankings, making him the first Italian ever to reach world’s best.
Sinner’s 2024 record stands at an incredibly impressive 38 wins to 3 losses (38-3). Earlier in the year the Italian also found himself on a 19-match winning streak similar to Świątek.
Iga Świątek
Iga Świątek’s 2024 season has been a showing of absolute domination. The Polish superstar’s year so far has been nothing short of incredible, making her our clear favourite for Wimbledon 2024. So far, Iga Świątek has claimed her fourth French Open title (third consecutive) and another four WTA 1000 titles, making it 10 total. She now finds herself the owner of the world No.1 spot for over 100 weeks.
In 2024, Świątek’s victories in Doha, Indian Wells, Madrid, and Rome highlight her recent form in high-stakes tournaments. Her triumphs over top players like Aryna Sabalenka, Maria Sakkari, and Coco Gauff, often in straight sets, demonstrate just how strong she has been recently. Coming into Wimbledon 2024, Świątek has a 19-match winning streak.
What About Alcaraz?
Carlos Alcaraz still remains an incredible candidate for the title of Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Singles champion. Their is a real possibility the Spaniard will take home a second consecutive Wimbledon trophy. Alcaraz is the champion of the calendar’s most recent Grand Slam, the French Open, which saw him become the youngest male player to win a Grand Slam title on every surface. Despite a 2024 season that is comparably not as strong as Sinner’s, Alcaraz had an incredible 2023. Carlos Alcaraz is the reigning champion of both Wimbledon and the French Open.
